The healing power of lavender


The word “lavender” came from the roman word lavens meaning “to wash”.  Romans and Greeks loved this plant for its unique fragrance and for its beauty. But lavender it`s more than just a fragrance.

The Romans and Greeks discovered the healing power of lavender. They used the lavender oil for its antiseptic properties, to clear up the skin problems and rejuvenate the skin. Lavender tea was external used to heal the wounds. As internal use, lavender is a natural treatment for anxiety and headaches.

Lavender calming properties are well known. When you are stressed, just take a bath in a lavender scented water. While your skin is cleansed and stimulated, your mind is relaxed.

To help you sleep, just spray a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow and in your bedroom. The sooting fragrance calms you and promotes a restful night`s sleep.

But lavender can also be used in the kitchen, as a cleanser or as a cooking ingredient. Just add a few drops of lavender oil to your cleanser and you will improve its cleaning power and you will fill your kitchen with a fresh fragrance. You can use lavender as an ingredient to prepare tea or cookies.
