FIGHTING MIGRAIN AND HEADACHES WITH ESSENTIAL OILS

Very common, headaches can take many forms and can sometimes be very disabling on a daily basis. They may settle abruptly or gradually, touch some or all of the skull, vary in intensity, be accompanied or not by other symptoms …
These headaches most often correspond to headaches of tension or migraines, without gravity but which can be very troublesome:
Tension headache is defined as a moderate, diffuse continuous pain that lasts for a long time, without nausea or vomiting, which is accompanied by difficulty in concentration. It occurs mostly at the end of the day and is often linked to stress, fatigue, or psychological tension.
Migraine is a unilateral and pulsatile headache occurring in seizures, of moderate to severe intensity. It is sometimes accompanied by nausea, vomiting, or intolerance to noise or light. In some patients, the crisis is preceded by signs called “aura”. The factors triggering migraines are very varied: lack of sleep, skipped meals or on the contrary too copious, consumption of certain foods (such as alcohol, coffee and chocolate), certain noises, odors or lights …

If the triggering factors are known, the first thing to do is to avoid them as much as possible! Also remember to hydrate well (many headaches are related to dehydration) and try to relax and evacuate your tensions.

We can mix:

  • 1 ml lavender essential oil
  • 1 ml basil essential oil
  • 2 ml peppermint essential oil

Use: 2 to 3 drops of the mixture in local application on zones of pain according to the needs.

Mirosul citricelor, foarte apreciat de copii, inlatura emotiile negative si tristetea.Portocala dulce, lamaia, grapefruit-ul si bergamota contribuie la crearea unei atmosfere vesele si relaxate. De aceea sunt recomandate pentru a fi difuzate in incaperi.

De asemenea, pot fi folosite in timpul baii pentru a readuce buna dispozitie. Amestecam un pumn de sare de mare cu 3-4 picaturi de ulei de citrice si 3-4 picaturi de ulei de camfor (cu proprietati imunostimulatoare si beneficii in cazul lipsei energiei si asteniei), si il dizolvam in apa de baie pentru un moment de revitalizare fizica si psihica.

Uleiurile esentiale sunt unele din cele mai vechi medicamente utilizate in lupta cu raceala si gripa. Cu ajutorul lor putem preveni sau trata afectiunile respiratorii si febra.

Pentru preventie putem folosi un amestec de uleiuri esentiale din care picuram cativa stropi in lampa de aromaterapie. Pentru acest mix putem folosi:

  • Ulei esential de eucalipt: este antimicrobian, antibacterian, antifungic,dezodorizeaza aerul din incaperi, are actiune pozitiva asupra sistemului respirator fiind expectorant, mucolitic si decongestionant nazal, pozitivant si tonic.
  • Ulei esential de lamaie este un antiseptic general, tonic si stimulant al sistemului nervos, cu un parfum placut, optimizant.
  • Ulei esential de lavanda: antiseptic, sedativ si linistitor, echilibrant al sistemului nervos
  • Ulei esential de camfor are proprietati antivirale, antimicrobiene, imunostimulatoare
  • Ulei esential de rozmarin este antiseptic, expectorant, mucolitic

Utile in cazul febrei sunt uleiurile esentiale de piper negru, menta, lamaie si tea- tree. In cada cu apa calduta picuram cativa stropi din aceste uleiuri sau adaugam cateva picaturi in ulei vegetal cu care facem frectii pe spate si picioare.

For prevention we can use a few drops of a  mixture of essential oils in the aromatherapy lamp. For this blend we can use:

  • Eucalyptus essential oil: antibacterial, anti-inflammatory,antiseptic, decongestant, deodorant, stimulating
  • Lemon essential oil: antiseptic, anti-infection, disinfectant, stimulating
  • Lavender essential oil: antifungal, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antibacterial, sedative
  • Camphor essential oil: antiseptic, decongestant, disinfectant, sedative
  • Rosemary essential oil: antiseptic, decongestant

For fever we can use a few drops of black pepper, peppermint, lemon or tea- tree essential oils. We can add a few drops when we take a bath or we can massage our back and feet with vegetal oil(such as olive oil) and a few drops of theese essentials oils.

Sezon de tranzitie, toamna este o perioada in care fizicul si psihicul au nevoie de ajutor pentru a se pregati de iarna. Uleiurile esentiale ne pot ajuta sa regasim echilibrul psihic si  sa ne imbunatatim sistemul imunitar.

Pentru a ne pastra moralul ridicat uleiurile esentiale sunt principalii aliati.Uleiurile esentiale din citrice sunt alegeri potrivite pentru a alunga gandurile negative. Mirosurile lor fructate, tonice, sunt recunoscute pentru capacitatile lor antistress.

In cazul depresiilor, uleiurile esentiale de verbina si de tamaie sunt de mare ajutor. De asemenea, uleiul esential de eucalipt lupta eficient impotriva oboselii nervoase.

Oboseala nervoasa este adesea o forma a oboselii fizice. Pentru a lupta impotriva oboselii putem alege uleiuri esentiale cu efect “cortison-like” cum ar fi cel de pin.

Pentru ridicarea moralului si obtinerea unei stari de bine putem crea urmatorul amestec:

  • 60 picaturi ulei esential de bergamota
  • 60 picaturi ulei esential de eucalipt
  • 30 picaturi ulei esential Ylang-ylang
  • 10 ml ulei de jojoba (sau alt ulei vegetal)

Obtinem 15 ml de amestesc. Aplicam cate o picatura pe plexul solar si pe partea interioara a palmelor si inspiram profund.
